This trackable made possible by: Jennifer McQuaid
My mother's favorite holiday was Halloween. She, being pagan preferred calling it Samhain (sow-win). It was a time when the veil between the living and dead was thin. To protect children and aduls alike you dress as them. The gifts were meant to help carry and appease the spirits of the dead. Of course, dressing up also just plain fun to create an experience for others. Like seeing your favorite movie characters alive and in person.
Origins of "hido," K.D., and the road trip
"Hido" was a greeting my mother, Kathy Bruce started saying in the mid-nineties. It was a consolidation of, "Hi, how are you doing?" into one word. Like Namaste for Enlgish speakers.
Mom's middle initial was "D". Katie was the name of her grandmother (her mom's mom). First initial plus middile initial, phonetically results in the same sound.
The Hido K.D. Road Trip is a tribute to my mother who passed away March 1st, 2019. She loved road trips and traveling. These trackables let her keep doing so for however long they last..
