[de] Uwes Hell-Racer nimmt am HQ Duck Dash teil und möchte am 20. August 2016, dem Internationalen Geocaching-Tag, an einem Geocaching-Event teilnehmen. Bis dahin freut er sich, wenn er möglichst viele Caches besucht und möglichst viele Cacher kennenlernt, die ihre lustigen Logs mit ebenso schrägen Fotos würzen.
[en] Uwes Hell Racer participates the HQ Duck Dash and wants to join a geocaching event on August, 20th 2016, the International Geocaching Day. On its journey it would like to see as many caches as possible and meet as many cachers as possible, who spice their funny logs with peculiar pictures.
Am 30. August 2001 hat Jeremy Irish, der Gründer von Geocaching.com, den weltweit ersten Trackable aktiviert, TB1.
Jeremy sagt hierzu: “Als wir das erste Mal Travel – Bugs starteten, habe ich sieben Deadly Ducks in die Wildnis geschickt. Jeder der neuen Trackables repräsentierte eine der sieben Todsünden. Diese Deadly Ducks mit den Namen Neid, Faulheit, Stolz, Völlerei, Lust und Zorn sollten von Cache zu Cache reisen. (Die gierige Deadly Duck, wurde in einem Geocache platziert, der niemals auf Geocaching.com veröffentlicht worden ist. Sie ist vielleicht noch immer in Virginia versteckt.)
Damit begann ein Spiel im Spiel: Trackables. Heute sind es mehr als 2.655.951 Trackables welche um die Welt reisen und dabei neue Freunde kennenlernen, Erinnerungen erschaffen oder teilweise auch nur darauf warten, ihre Mission erfüllen zu können.
Zu Ehren des 15jährigen Jubiläums der Trackables veranstalten wir ein weltweites Trackable Rennen mit den wiedergeborenen Deadly Ducks. Du bist herzlich eingeladen daran teilzunehmen!
Das Rennen beginnt am 20. Juli 2016 um 00:01 Uhr PST und endet am 20. August 2016 um 23:59 Uhr PST
On August 30, 2001, Geocaching.com Founder Jeremy Irish activated the world’s first trackable, TB1.
Jeremy says, “When we first started Travel Bugs, I released 7 Deadly Ducks in the wild.” Each of the new trackables were based on one of the deadly sins. These Deadly Ducks, with the names of Envy, Sloth, Pride, Gluttony, Lust and Wrath, headed out into the world to travel from geocache to geocache. (The Greed Deadly Duck was placed in a geocache that was never listed on Geocaching.com and may still be hidden in Virginia.)
Thus began a game within a game: trackables. Today there are more than 2,655,951 trackables traveling around the world — making friends, creating memories and patiently waiting to complete their mission.
