Current Goal

Please drop this item in rural OR Premium Member Only caches.  Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event.  Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items.  Otherwise, take the travel bug anywhere you wish.  No permission is needed to leave the U.S.

Photos of the travel bug are appreciated.  I will be re-post them here, where they can be seen by other cachers.

About This Item

Each of the travel bugs in this CITO series is named for the Capitol city of a state where I have cached. I assume all of the cities have hosted a cach in/trash out event.

We came here, because I love Wee Willy, who is such a wonderful rescue dog, and his Dad, Hikeaday, and because finding this cache now qualifies me to go find the AlphaNumeric Cache Challenge. I have needed a cache beginning with 6 for several years now. However, when we got here, I was shocked. Way back in the 1970s, I did a Girl Scout Service Project here, when this area was the boondocks for Arlington. I didn't realize we'd be coming to a cemetery, when I picked this cache. I even found one of the headstones I remembered repairing. Since this was such a special place for me for many reasons, and because Wee Willy had this premium cache hidden from muggles so well and you were so relieved to get away from all that trash we saw at The Morse Code Puzzle, I let you stay in this quiet, peaceful, memorable, and quite historic place. Travel well, Helena, you have been a great caching companion!

I was headed to Fort Worth for a Texas Council Fly Fishers International Women's Event at Backwoods, and I decided to find two caches. Eek! Getting to gz, we had to wade through a creek whose saplings were mucked up with every conceivable plastic bag known to mankind, which wasn't too kind to this area. Then, after we cross and emerge, what was once tree haven has been plowed and graded down. Even the tree hiding the cache had one of its roots 16" in diameter, bulldozed and left exposed. You were very, very sad. We did fill another D/T grid, though!

I'm not sure you got discovered or not at the Backward's Day Celebration Event or not, but you were well behaved and had a good time.

Yes, we had our S.W.A.G. - SouthWest Arlington Geocachers Event to attend, but we had been out here the week before and tried to get this D-5.0/T-1.0 cache for my D/T grid, but even with TOTT, I was too short. We prepped well and made up for it, today. You were very encouraging while I was extending high and far while on a 14 foot ladder. I later calculated, we needed a total of 12 feet of ladder, 14 feet of extension, and 18 inches of arm reach to retrieve and return this cache!

Alright, alright, I'm a history buff and kept help it. Both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees are history ones. So, as we were leaving Hopewell Walking Trail headed towards Buchanan, I saw this very unique historical marker. In fact, I have never seen another one like it, so we stopped. Lo and Behold! there was a cache here, too. Once you saw the history, you and Arches wanted your photo taken! SNAP and DONE!

We were busy Sunday. This was our last stop, especially since the shadows were getting long. We had to do some more walking, but we found another D/T grid filler. It was a really old place. Nice and neat!

Almost three miles from the trailhead, we finally made it, after taking a wrong trail and thinking we could bushwhack part of the way. We did make it to another D/T Grid Filler and a pretty cool, historical place. Thankfully, nobody was home!
