A wooden ring to a tree ring to a tree—is that a logical sequence? Whether it is or not, this is one of a series of wooden rings named for famous or unusual trees.
The silk cotton trees (Tetrameles nudiflora) of Ta Prohm, Cambodia, are a distinctive feature of the temple of Ta Prohm. The roots tangle around the ancient temple buildings. Left alone, the silk cotton trees and strangler figs will disassemble the structures.
