Deze coin zat op 6 december 2016 opeens in mijn brievenbus, samen met een ansichtkaart die ik in mei 2016 in Seattle had achtergelaten in de Letterboxcache HQGT: Geo Post Office. De coin bleek een cadeau van Twentse Mug, omdat hij vergeten was mij de kaart te overhandigen toen hij daarvoor de kans had.

De ansichtkaart zelf is weer naar Nederland gehaald door team Irisisleuk. Daar ben ik hen dankbaar voor uiteraard. En zo zullen meer mensen wel een geocacher kennen die zij ergens dankbaar voor zijn; het correct op weg helpen van jouw Travelbug, een waardevolle tip waardoor je eindelijk die lastige mystery hebt kunnen kraken, of het afstaan van de FTF aan jou, zelfs al waren jullie tegelijktijdig bij die nieuwe cache. Daar is deze coin vanaf nu voor. Hij reist niet van cache naar cache (al zijn "visited" logs uiteraard prima), maar van cacher naar cacher. Geef hem door aan iemand die jij wilt bedanken, waarna die persoon hem weer door zal geven, etc.

This coin I received in my mailbox on December 6 2016, along with a postcard that  I left in May 2016 in the letterbox cache HQGT: Geo Post Office in Seattle. The coin was a gift from cacher Twentse Mug to appologize for not giving me the card earlier when he had the chance.

The card was brought back tot he Netherlands by team Irisisleuk. I want to thank them for that, and also Twentse Mug for forwarding the card to me. And I'm not alone; everybody knows a fellow geocacher they are thankful for something. Like helping your travelbug reach its destination, give you that last hint you needed to finally solve that difficult puzzle, or allow you to claim the FTF even if both of you arrived at a new cache at the same time. That is what this coin is for. It will travel not from cache to cache (although 'visited' logs are fine), but from cacher to cacher. Hand it over to someone you would like to thank, who will then hand it over to someone they like to thank, etc.
