Having been given a golden lyre by his father Apollo, god of music, Orpheus became a supremely accomplished player. Nothing could resist his beautiful melodies, neither enemies nor beasts; even trees and rocks were entranced with his music. In his quest to rescue Eurydice from the Stygian depths, his playing of the lyre charmed a three-headed beast and even Hades himself, god of the Underworld.
This geocoin was kindly made and awarded by Amberel, for the opencache Orpheus and Eurydice. The coin shows on this system as being in the hands of the owner, but it is resident in the aforementioned cache (the Orpheus half, naturally). As with all the Amberel coins that we are fortunate enough to have been given, this is a treasured geocoin, so please leave it in situ for others to discover.
