Current Goal

This travel bug is participating in the 1st Annual Battle of the Bugs Race in 2014 but ultimately this trackable is designed to visit conventions. Collect the best stories from those conventions and then add your lanyard. Feel free to share your stories as long as they are clean and family friendly.

This is a travel bug race of sorts but there are many different ways to win this "race" - hence the name of this event. This is not a race to a particular location but a battle for travel bug supremacy. All participating travel bugs will be launched from the event. Once launched, the bugs will battle for one full year. We will track their progress as they race toward one or more of the many goals that will earn their owner a prize.

Categories are as follows:

The travel bug located furthest from GZ at the end of the race
The travel bug with the most miles at the end of the race
The travel bug that has been in the most caches (dropping just to record miles will not count.)
The travel bug that has been in the most states
First travel bug to go outside the country
The travel bug with the most pictures
The first travel bug to visit Groundspeak HQ
The first travel bug to visit Memphis
The first travel bug to attend a major sporting event
The first travel bug to go MIA (must be MIA missing at least 3 months)

About This Item

We have gone to a few convention over the years and have a few tales to tell. Every convention we get a lanyard to hang around our neck and then carry the lanyard home to hang on a peg. We think this is sad that the tales of adventure that these lanyards represent have hung limp and lifeless on a peg. They should travel, they should meet new friends, they should collect together and share.

Dropping it in "Three Lock Box", a cache I created for our upcoming event, Cabin Fever '15. I have added my lanyard to the collection and posted a pic of it! The cache doesn't officially go live for a couple weeks though so I can't officially log it in yet.
