About This Item

According to tradition, you give a Buddha to the next person.

This is the reason I've made this trackable. It has nothing to do with faith or origin. This Chinese Buddha put the legend through and would like to travel from cache to cache.

The belly fat Buddha originates from China and is also known as Pu-Tai in Chinese (Hotei in Japanese). According to legend, Pu-Tai Ho-Shang was a Chinese Zen master (monk) who are very happy and carefree  traveling around China to spread Buddhism. He was then often surrounded by children and was honored for his tremendous joy and generosity, which also earned him his nickname 'Happy Buddha'. After his death he was revered as a folk hero, fertility and bringer of happiness.

The contemporary Chinese Buddha statues still descendants of this ancient legend and are recognizable by his big belly, hearty laughter, bald head and long earlobes. His long earlobes indicate its aristocratic origins. It is said that you will receive if you rub him regularly about his big belly. Luckier

The Happy Buddha represents happiness, joy, success, wealth and prosperity.

The contemporary Chinese Buddha statues still descendants of this ancient legend and are recognizable by his big belly, hearty laughter, bald head and long earlobes. His long earlobes indicate its aristocratic origins. It is said that you will receive more happiness if you rub him regularly about his big belly.
