Titanic, 100th Anniversary
On April 15th, 2012 it was 100 years ago the Titanic sank.
The RMS Titanic was the second of three luxurious ships of the Olymic classe ocean liners. During the first trip of the Titanic in April 1912, the ship collided with an iceberg; a part of the starboard side was pierced on several places, and the ship sank within three hours. 1522 people died. Although this was not the bigges shipping disaster in history, given the number of victims, it was the most known, especially because the ship was known as "unsinkable".
On the front is the Titanic with the iceberg (in glitter enamel). The back was made in the shape of a ships buoy, with a real rope around it. In the middle of the buoy is a pathtag with a unique number, which can be logged on pathtags.com.
This beautiful geocoin is 50mm in diameter and 8mm thick.
