Current Goal

I maintain records on my trackables. They have the goal to circulate more than five years and to be moved by at least 25 cachers. That is a target rate of five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days. The past average drop rate of my trackables in the US is 115 days, in Europe it is 65 days. As of 3-Mar-22 this one has survived for 11.8 years but it had been moved by only 12 cachers, for an average drop every 358 days. Please keep it moving!

No permission is needed to leave the U.S. While in the U.S., please drop it in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event where there is no security. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and dry, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.

About This Item

FlagofMichigan

Patch of the state flag of Michigan. The current version of Michigan's state flag was officially adopted in 1911. It displays (on a dark blue field), the 1832 state arms representation. Those arms include an elk and moose supporting the official shield. That shield displays a man indicating friendship. He stands on a peninsula, next to a lake, with the morning sun rising. A bald eagle sits on top of the shield. Three mottos are included: "E Pluribus Unum" (From Many, One), "Tuebor" (I Will Defend), and "Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspace" (If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you).

Michigan State Flag (and also Jetting to the Finish) visited two caches in Dimondale today, then headed into Lansing for a photo op with the State Capital Building. These were taken near the corner of Oakland and Walnut, looking at what most people would call the back of the building. I did this intentionally to get the dome backlit by the setting sun behind me. On the downside, it meant that my vantage point was in a court yard in deep shadow, so the details of the bugs are obscured. Enjoy!
