This coin is being released as part of the Todie's Wild Ride Bike Awareness Project initiated by Rockin Roddy in response to the death of his good friend Tod Phillips. On August 12, 2008, Tod was riding a motorcycle when he was killed in an accident caused by a left turning vehicle. Tod was one third of Team Rod & Tod w/KAboom. This coin is released in his memory and in memory of all motorcyclists killed on the road. As part of this coins journey, I would like to collect different tips for drivers to be more aware of motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. Feel free to add any tips you wish to the logs to share with others.

This coin is on a special mission. The mission is to promote awareness of bikes and riders on the roads. Specifically this coin has been released to promote the fact that 'ROLLING STOPS KILL'. Besides being against the law (you can be ticketed for it), it is a very, very dangerous thing to do. Recently my step-sister and her grandmother were hit while walking across an intersection (in the crosswalk) by a driver who made a rolling stop at a stop sign and never even looked to his right. Luckily they only sustained minor injusries, but it could have been much worse.

So next time you arrive at a stop sign or red signal light, please remeber this coin and come to a complete stop and look both ways before proceeding.

Ran out this morning to make an FTF attempt (I got it!) and on the drive back I hit up a TB hotel and discovered this and others temporarily housing here. I took some to stay at my TB Hostel, others I just said hi to and left for another cacher. This is a fun little traveler and I am glad to discover. Thanks for sharing and happy travels!
