Bike Safety Tips:
- Share the Road
- Wear a Helmet (and lights @ night!)
- Travel in the direction of traffic
- Obey all traffic lights and signs
- "Take the Lane" for a left-hand turn - make your turn from the center-line
- Ride as far to the right as is safe
- Watch out for the car that doesn't see you
For cars:
- Share the Road
- Look Twice: Save a Life
- Leave 3 feet of clearance between you and the cycle
- Slow down and stay behind the cycle if it is not safe to pass
- Recognize that it may not be safe for the cycle to travel in the shoulder
- Look out for the occasional cycle going the wrong way, or in the wrong place
