Current Goal

We are a fourth grade class from Carpenter Elementary school in Park Ridge Illinois. Our teacher is Mr. Toren. We would like our travel bug, Bobo to travel to as many sports stadiums/courts/fields as possible, the four corners, Maine, Yosemite national park, Old Faithful Geyser, Badlands, Grand Canyon, Hershey Pennsylvania, Mount Rushmore, Golden Gate Bridge, Walt Disney theme parks (both). We would like Bobo to take pictures of each place that he has been to we would like to see how many of our destinations he has gone to! We all hope you know that if you can’t go to any places listed above then please take him somewhere of your choice! So please take care of Bobo for us!

Bobo went for a hike up Centennial Ridge in Kananaskis today. (The caches on the ridge are not busy enough for a TB so he will be resting and recovering in a cache at the bottom.) He had a wonderful day but by the time he got down again, his legs felt like they had nothing but stuffing in them! This is where we leave Bobo. Good luck!

  • Centennial Ridge, Kananaskis. Bobo on Centennial Ridge (very near to GCQ9W0) at an elevation of 8200 feet. This view is looking along the ridge top towards Mt. Allan (the scree-sloped hill on the right of the picture). This is the highest maintained trail in Canada.
  • Centennial Ridge, Kananaskis. Bobo with another view of the mountains. The haze in the pictures comes from all the forest fires burning in British Columbia this summer.

Today, Bobo had a little visit to the town of Cochrane just to see the famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride. 32 riders doing patterns together to music. Very impressive. The riders get to do this for 3 years before they have to go back to their regular jobs. Something like 700 officers apply for 12 spots a year. But a cache here didn't work out so Bobo is still with us. Maybe on the weekend...

Bobo has been doing a lot of traveling but hasn't reached many of his goals! I guess that's what happens when you're released into the wide world, throw responsibility to the wind, and immediately go on a long European vacation! Sitting in open air cafes, drinking German beer, eating Austrian cake, tasting Dutch cheese, and generally enjoying the good life. What ever happened to priorities? Oh...maybe that was a bad question.

I can't get Bobo any closer to most of his goals but I'll get him to one more cache.

Found Bobo while geocaching on Nose Hill. Had fun finding him.

Bobo asked on his list to go to some badlands. We moved him to a cache in the Alberta Badlands 😁
