Freedom is not Free. It cost us the lives of our Soldiers. This Dog Tag is sent out in memory of Pfc, Rowan Walter, age 25, an army medic, who was murdered by Sunni’s in Ramadi, Iraq on 23 February 2007, along with two of his fellow soldiers, Staff Sgt. Joshua Hager and PFC Travis Buford. Rowan is the husband of my daughter’s best friend. He is a person of great integrity, honor, love and happiness. An upbeat caring person, a sweet spirit with a love of life and a gift that enabled him to enliven all around him. As of march 2007 at least 3,241 U.S. personnel have been killed since the start of the Iraq war in 2003. The Iraq war is not U.N. war. It is a religious civil war that has been on going for 2000 years.

Saw this one at Baikals 2011 event. I am very grateful for the opportunity to find out about Rowan and all my best wishes go out to the family and friends of his. He is travelling the world and will hopefully do so for a long time.
