This geocache container and contents were given to me by class114 and flamejobgrrl of McKenzie-Smith Bennett Public School in Acton, Ontario, Canada. You can also read more about it here in this acticle: Acton Tanner - May 17, 2007
This multicache will bring you to three locations within the woods of Gundelfingen. Each time we visit Gundelfingen, we make it a point to hike up to the Roßkopf. Climbing up to the top of the Friedrichsturm on top of the Roßkopf is another matter, but we all made it to the top this time.
I suggest that you visit the following stages in order.
Stage 1: Rottecksruhe
N48 00.903
E7 53.877
A = The year Carl v. Rotteck was born.
Stage 2: Roßkopf
N48 00.598
E7 54.095
B = Year on the metal plaque over the base of the steps of the tower. (Answer: 1889)
C = Year on the semi-circle directional plaque at the top of the tower (the plaque that has Kirchzarten on it at the 3rd position from the right). (I think the answer is 1897)
Stage 3: Martinsfelsen
N48 00.804
E7 54.318
D = Meters over see level that the old sign on the tree at Martinsfels says. **I think the value is 686m
A = __ __ __ __
B = __ __ __ __
C = __ __ __ __
D = __ __ __
E = (A + B + C + D)/1000
Checksum for E: if you add the 4 digits of E together you get 19.
In order to find the final:
Subtract(-) E from the following North coords N48 07.060.
Add(+) E to the following East coords E7 48.065.
