For those who haven’t cached all around the state yet, what are you waiting for?
Ohio offers over 44,000 square miles of beautiful and diverse countryside to cache! You'll find northern plains along the Lake Erie coastline, steep hills and valleys on the eastern Appalachian plateaus, fine river country along the great Ohio River valleys, and glacier scraped flatlands out west. Fantastic geography to cache in!
In 1750, Christopher Gist, a surveyor for the Ohio Company reported that, "This Ohio Country is fine, rich, level land, well-timbered with large walnut, ash, sugar trees ... it is well watered ... and full of beautiful natural ... meadows, abounding with turkeys, deer, elk and most sorts of game, particularly buffaloes. In short, it wants nothing but cultivation to make it a most delightful country."
We can now add that it also has LOTS of caches! Thanks to all the very active cachers and caching organizations through out the state!
While you are out there on this quest, enjoy driving along some of the best roads in the USA. Ohio is consistently rated in the Top 5 for it’s well-maintained roads.
This cache is listed as a puzzle cache and it is physically hidden somewhere in Summit County. Don't go to the actual listed coords at the top of the page, it's just the intersection of North Rd. and East Market.
The puzzle part is simply logging a find in ALL 88 Ohio counties on geocaching.com. Once you do that, you can then come claim this cache and get your reward!
Several Ohio cachers, including myself, have already achieved this difficult goal and, deservedly, warrant a special cache to recognize their accomplishment. Others and myself are going to do our best to keep this cache stocked with good reward swag. You won’t be disappointed with a visit.
Some good news, your current ‘county caches found’ totals count!! All the caches you have found since you started geocaching will be Grand fathered! No need to start over!
For those of you Ohio cachers who have already achieved the Great 88 quest, just follow the steps below to get the final coords of this cache. Be sure to list the date you finished in your log.
Here are the requirements for this cache. If you are a Groundspeak premium member, you can easily provide the proof needed to me AFTER you have completed and logged all 88 counties on geocaching.com. Simply run a “MY FINDS” pocket query from your GC profile page. This will generate a GPX file. Next, create a free account at mygeocachingprofile.com. Then simply upload your GPX file to that web site. Note: GPX data uploads to that site are permitted by a license agreement with Groundspeak.
My Geocaching Profile will generate a very detailed report on your caching activity including the counties in Ohio that you have logged a cache in. This report is public and available to anyone to view.
Once you’ve uploaded the GPX file, post a “WRITE NOTE” log here and I’ll go to that web site and verify your county finds. If all 88 are logged, I'll send you the final coordinates of this cache and the combination to the padlock on it. Yes, it’s padlocked. I told you, “Good swag!”
If you are NOT a Groundspeak premium member, or if you are a premium member who chooses not to create an account at "My Geocaching Profile," this is how you can show me your 88 finds. Create a list of all 88 Ohio counties and beside each, record the GC number that you found in that county, your choice of which. Once you have a cache found in all of the 88 counties, send me that list for verification. Down below, I’ve included several links to maps & tools to assist you in tracking your 88 county progress.
This will take longer of course to verify so I hope you are all premium members and are supporting geocaching.com.
Other Rules:
1) You do not need to do the exact same caches as I have posted. Any valid gc.com listed cache is acceptable.
2) You cannot claim your own cache for any county!
3) Your found cache types must be either: Traditional, Multi, Mystery/Puzzle, Earth, or a Virtual.
4) Incomplete postings logged as finds will be deleted! Only postings with complete listings will be listed.
5) Only cachers who have found all 88 caches may log this cache. No tagging along with a qualified cacher to claim this cache. Your log will be deleted.

You are the search engine! Stay focused, keep your eye out for the cheapest gas, change your oil every 3,000 miles, check your tire pressure often, pack your lunches, bring extra batteries, hydrate, and don’t forget to have fun doing this challenge! There is no time limit for this cache!
As you are criss-crossing through the counties, don’t be afraid to make pit stops for places that hold things other than caches. Oddities, unique structures, famous places, or historic sites, Ohio has lots to offer! Get out of your car and see some of it!
One last thing, give thanks to the gods of caching that you're not in Texas attempting a county challenge, they have 256 counties!
Original contents include several clever cache containers I've had for some time and haven't had time to place along with 10 Ohio geocoins for the first ten finders. ONE COIN PER TEAM PLEASE. There are also a few of my mom's neat homemade items. If bringing trade items, try to bring trades that have something to do with Ohio or from places you've been in the state such as postcards or souvenirs.
