Geocache Description:

In an open area so watch out for muggles

The site of this cache is Cligga Mine. There have been minerals such as arsenic, tin & wolfram (used to make tungsten) extracted since pre-Roman times up until the 1970's. in and around this area. Also your see the site of buildings and earth structures of the former Alfred Nobel (of noble peace prize fame) explosives factory, which during the 19th century supplied Cornwall's mines, and which were reopened during the Great War to fill Mills Bombs (grenades) for the troops in the trenches. Which by the way is where my own grandmother worked in that war at the age of 14?
Not far from the cache your see the capped mine shaft named “Contact”. In the gallery your see a picture I took if it from underground on one of the mine levels that lead off it about 100’ down. When Soldierblue2 and I was training with Cornwall Search & Rescue. On a nice day it's worth walking along the cliff path towards St Agnes as the views of the cliffs and Hanover beach below are stunning. And you never know you may find another cache :) PLEASE NOTE You will also your find part of some coordinates on the inside of the lid that will take you to another cache.
Please make sure you replace the cache as you found it or better as your see it's not far from a busy path.
