The co-ordinates are not for the cache but for a convenient car park near the junction of Holly Lane and Outwood Lane in Chipstead Valley. The 5 mile Banstead Countryside Walk starts from the car park.
Banstead Woods is ancient woodland which has been designated a SSSI (Site of special scientific interest). It covers an area of 250 acres and is one of the most valuable woodlands in Surrey. In the spring a spectacular display of bluebells can be seen. The adjoining Park Downs, 74 acres, also has many chalkland plant species. If you have a dog please be aware that there may be grazing animals.
The GPS reception in the area of the cache is not good but the hiding place should be obvious.
The Ramblers Rest PH on Outwood Lane makes a pleasant stopping place before or after the cache.
