Geocache Description:

The Sherburne County History Center is located on land adjacent to the Oak Savanna Park. Trail Maps are available inside the History Center. Spend some time here at this new facitlity opened up in April of 2006. To learn more about the History Center and the Park go to the following website http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnschs/oaksavanna.html

The Oak Savanna Park was acquired in 1997 as a gift from the Cox family. The 140-acre park is located near Becker approximately ¼ mile east of State Hwy. 25. Comprised largely of an oak savanna ecosystem, the native grasses, wildflowers, and trees provide for a variety of outstanding scenic views and educational opportunities.
Other features on the property include sand dune blowouts, pine forests, and restored prairie areas making this site one of the area’s most diverse park and natural area.
Trail systems provide for a variety of year-round recreational opportunities. Mowed trails during the summer allow for walking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and wildlife watching. Winter uses include groomed cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and dog sledding. On the east side of the Oak Savanna Park is the Becker City Park. Trails from both parks link to one another and create for many miles of recreational activities. Trail users are to stay on marked trails and use trails only for their designated uses.

Park Rules: No motorized vehicles. No hunting. No camping. All pets must
