Geocache Description:

Pidgeot: The fully evolved form of Pidgey, which is quite appropriate because this cache has been forced to evolve following extensive landscaping in the area. It is a flying type Pokémon, and the cache has flown the coop on a couple of occasions, so please be careful when extracting & replacing the cache.

The trail will take you around the eastern basin of Lake Burley Griffin and the Jerrabomberra Wetlands (dogs not allowed). I suggest you park on the lakefront, just past the Boathouse Restaurant car park and walk or ride around the lake in a clockwise direction. The hints throughout the Pokémon Puzzle Trail are on the basis of you following these instructions and do not approach from an alternative direction. Please do not park in the hospice car park.

The total distance for the entire loop is 8.68kms and it took me 1hr 52mins to walk at a brisk pace with frequent stops along the way. It will be closer to 8kms once the Kingston foreshore is reopened. The terrain is very flat and mostly paved, with the exception of the wetlands, but I have rated the terrain on the basis of the distance required to complete the series without returning to your car in between caches!

Watch out for snakes in long grass & near the water’s edge. I saw one near the concrete boat ramp when I was planning the caches, so I decided to relocate this cache. If you stick to the paths you should be pretty safe. Also, the flies are a real pest in the warmer months, so I recommend you start nice & early – and don’t forget the Aerogard! Slip, Slop, Slap too and take a water bottle (but then, I’m not your mother!).
