Located in a caching gap in beautiful Beacon town!
We've passed this place many times and rarely fail to see a couple of groundhogs browsing in the grassy area at the side of the road near where we have located this cache. This always reminds us of one of our favorite movies, Groundhog Day, which stars Bill Murray and Andie McDowell. This will be the first of what I hope will be an ever more entertaining series of caches based on movie titles. I'm not sure where I'm going to place Dr. Strangelove . . .
Cache will contain the usual start-up swag, so I won't bother to list the individual items, but I am launching my first travel bug, The Bum Steer from this cache. Some nearby points of interest are Beacon Mountain, which overlooks the cache site, Dia: Beacon, a branch of the Museum of Modern Art, and Tallix, a sculpture shop of world reknown right across Rte. 52 from the cache site. It's a public park, but please be mindful of the groundhogs as you pursue the cache.
