Telltale Heart Night Cache
This cache is
designed to be found at night. You will need a headlamp (or
flashlight held up close to your head).
The cache is not at the posted coordinates!
The coordinates are for the trailhead. (Round trip to this cache
is about 1 mile).
The GRAVEYARD has never been officially
acknowledged, it has been described in local legends dating back to
1695 when a madman murdered an old witch from Salem and buried her
in this very spot. It was said that the witch drove him insane and
that he eventually confessed to the murder after being tormented by
the sound of her still beating heart (like a watch wrapped in
cotton). If it is quiet you may even hear it yourself.

Walk along the WOODS ROAD until you reach a
large stand of tall red pines on your right, about 0.22 miles (N 44
deg 55.960 min W 68 deg 40.919 min)
Walk southerly through the trees about 0.18 miles
along the RED TRAIL to the Trailhead (at the listed
coordinates).
Enter the SWAMP TRAIL, on the right and
follow the YELLOW/WHITE MARKERS TO THE CACHE.
If you are very brave you may want to check out the orange trail
into the swamp, but if you are not careful you may be eaten by a
Grue.
When you reach the graveyard, the Cache will be
nearby in a Black Ammo Box near the bones of a not so lucky
Hippihiker, who would have been the FTF, but I forgot to post the
warning about the GRUES. Congrats to Sudonim for his FTS (First to
Survive).
After finding the cache you will have to backtrack a bit to the
BLUE TRAIL which will lead you back to the Trailhead.
