Geocache Description:

A quick and pleasant walk, in the 2,600-acre Crow-Hassan Park Reserve!

Cache Details

This cache is hidden in a neglected section of the Crow-Hassan Park Reserve, just North of the main trails. During the Fall, the colors are spectacular...but we hope you enjoy the hike and view of North Twin Lake, no matter what time of the year you visit!

Location, Parking, and Access

If you're looking for a nice long hike, you can get to this one along the trails from the main parking lot. But if you're in a hurry or have the young 'uns along, you can also park *near* the North trailhead at N 45° 11.555 W 093° 37.458, and enjoy a short .17-mile trek along a well-defined trail directly to the cache location.

Do NOT park right at the gate, unless you want to risk a parking ticket! The road is narrow, but you can legally park on the shoulder, just past the gated area. Please watch your kids carefully if you park here, the local drivers are crazy around that 90-degree corner.

You're looking for a large .50-cal Ammo Box, hidden behind the geo-beacon. If you take the direct route to the cache, you'll find some nasty thorns in your way - it might be best to loop around to the back (careful on the hill!), or pick your way carefully in from the side. Because of the thorns and the hillside, I won't list this as fully Kid- and Family-friendly, but your mileage and assessment may vary. The cache starts out stuffed to the brim with toys and trinkets, hand-selected by the 'Noles kidlets from their own personal collection. As always, have fun and happy hunting!
