Geocache Description:

Short Description

This cache is a camoflauged ammo box and is designed to be an easy bug drop. It is located in Neill Park in Burnsville.

Long Description

Update 5/29/2014: This bug drop has been vandalized twice now, but is back in service. It is a great spot, but since it is near the parking lot for several baseball fields, it is a very high traffic area at times. Please be very mindful of MUGGLES!

Neill Park is a 62 acre neighborhood park located a bit northwest of County Road 5 and Burnsville Parkway.

The closest parking to the cache is off Burnsville Parkway, west from County Road 5, marked by a sign that says "Neill Park Fields 2 & 3" at location N44 45.429 W93 18.357.

There are some differences in the spelling of the park name. City of Burnsville signs, web maps, and documents refer to it as Neill Park whereas Garmin City Select calls it Neil Park. The cache is a short distance from the parking area.

Since this is a softball/baseball community park, there may be high numbers of muggles at times.

In addition to being intended as a bug drop, the cache has a normal complement of stash items.

The original contents include:
Log
Pencil
Rescue Ranger 3 Travel Bug
Red plastic box
Camel toy
Two dinosaur toys

This is our third cache hide, we hope your enjoy it!

Update 12/31/2007

The cache has been re-hidden in the same spot, now that the City of Burnsville seems to be done with changes near the cache location.

The parking lot is now paved, and there is a trail all around the pond. There is also a large fenced area on the other side of the parking lot for a community garden.

Please be mindful of MUGGLES!

The cache was vandalized in the fall of 2007. I would prefer not to move it, since it is in a good spot as a bug drop.

Thanks!
