Geocache Description:

A christmas BBQ for the whole family nowhere near the heart of Parramatta, but at Mortlake Point, so don't go anywhere near Parramatta or the lake!!. This event is a bit different from your normal event cache, at the same time as we hold this, other cachers will be doing the exact same thing in nearly every other state, just like we did in 2005!

Come and celebrate pre-christmas on SUNDAY, the 3rd of December with your fellow geocachers at a wonderful spot called Mortlake Point. There is quite a bit of shade, some BBQ's nearby, but not in the best of conditions..

Bring your own everything, chairs etc. Team Webguy will be arriving around 9:30am to grab the spot I have in mind with the most shade.

If you have large sun shelters, please bring them and some method of keeping them secured in case it is windy like last year. We did have a reasonable amount of shade in the tree area, but it does not hurt to have the extra shade.

Team Webguy will attempt to lay out a time trial for a bit of fun on the day so make sure you bring your GPS, lets see how many TB's we can get to this event as well. I'll also have more time this year to lay out the timed event and get more accurate co-ords for the waypoints to make it a bit easier. We may even add a bit of a twist to this timed event, some come prepared.

Please post a note to say how many will be attending, how many adults and how many kids. Remember, kids are more than welcome and there were plenty there last year, it's a family event!

Events are a great way to meet other people who also share a fetish, I mean, a interest in chasing tupperware in the bush, be it urban or real. They allow you to put faces to names you see in logs, or the owner of caches set around NSW and Sydney. And lastly, it gives you a chance to ask the question, "Are you looking for the same thing I am" and not have to worry about why that man has a big smile and is dropping his shorts!

If you are new to this pastime, don't be shy, many good friendships have been made at such events, nobody cares about how many caches you have or have not done. There will be cachers there with a wealth of experience and advice, so, mark the date on the calendar, comb your hair, polish the gps, recharge those batteries and come on down! You just may have a great time!
