Up until recently this area was known as the "boom property" because of all the log booms floating in the river waiting to go upstream to the paper mills. Oregon City turned this into a nice little park, adding a transient boat dock, some restrooms and landscaping.
The park is named in honor of a local citizen who lost his life while giving back to the community.
PLEASE APPROACH THIS CACHE FROM THE SOUTH - FROM THE TRAILHEAD COORDINATES NEAR THE BOAT DOCK. DON'T APPROACH VIA CLACKAMETTE PARK BECAUSE YOU'D HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE CAMPING/RV AREA AND WE WANT TO GIVE THOSE FOLKS THEIR PRIVACY.
BONUS: This cache contains the coordinates for puzzle cache GCXP57 Canemah Cache Returns which is located in Oregon City.
