Kostel ma lod ovalneho pudorysu s vencem sedmi pulkruhovych kapli, vcetne kneziste. Pred hlavnim prucelim se nachazi predsin s vezi. Predsin ma lehce konicky pudorys. Ploche zapadni pruceli vrcholi trojbokym stitem. Nad hlavnim vchodem se naleza monogram opata Otmara Zinka s datem 1726. Zvenku ma stavba zvlneny obrys. Nad kaplemi se stridaji polokruhove a trojhranne obrysy. Krome hladkych pasu na rozich a v koutech je stavba cela omitnuta vrhanou omitkou. Ze zapadni strany vede do kostela vchod, ktery je v tesanem hladkem osteni pravouhly. Kostel prosvecuje 8 pulkruhem uzavrenych oken.
Na miste nynejsiho kostela stala drive drevena kaple a to az do roku 1709, kdy dal opat Otmar Zinke postavit nynejsi kostel,patrne podle starsich planu Kiliana Dientzenhofera. Podle dochovanych zaznamu byla stavba zahajena roku 1725 a posvecena roku 1726. Kostel byl dokoncen roku 1727. V letech 1748-1750 se jeste pracovalo na vnitrnim vybaveni a mensich upravach interieru. Autorstvi obou Dientzenhoferu neni dolozeno prameny, vyplyva vsak z trvalych pracovnich svazku s brevnovsko-broumovskymi benediktiny.
Interier stavby je clenen osmi stihlymi pilastry na nizkych trnozich. Pilastry jsou bez patek, s hlavicemi, ktere jsou tvoreny ze zalomovaneho hladi podstropni rimsy. Strop je rovny, zrcadlovy, rakosovany a na vysokych oblych nabezich. Mezi pilastry se eliptickymi archivoltami do lodi otviraji jednotlive kaple. Steny jednotlivych kapli jsou cleneny nikami a lizenovymi ramci, ktere nesou rimsu.
Zarizeni kostela je vetsinou z doby jeho vystavby, s rokokovymi doplnky. Hlavni oltar vyplnuje svoji sloupovou architekturou cely vychodni vyklenek. Oltar v jizni stredni kapli, ktery byval oltarem hlavnim je bohate zlacen barokni sloupkovou architekturou s rokajovymi prorezavanymi postranicemi a je pravdepodobne nejcennejsi pamatkou uvnitr kostela.
V soucasne dobe je to jen oltarni architektura, protoze reliefy z kridel a dalsi plastiky byly ulozeny castecne v broumovskem muzeu a castecne v depozitari. Take dalsi cennejsi mobiliar musel byt vystehovan a bezpecne ulozen vzhledem k vlne kostelnich kradezi po r.1990. V zadni casti lodi se nachazi kruchta, s drevenou kuzelkovou balustradou, prechazejici do posledniho paru kapli.
CHURCH OF ST. BARBRA, OTOVICE
At the place of the Church of St. Barbra, there was originally a wooden chapel standing. It is obvious from the preserved building accounts that the construction of the new church in accordance with the design of Christoph Dientzenhofer started in 1725 and that it was completed in two years. In the years 1748-50, they were still working on the inside equipment and interiors. The church has a body of oval floor projection, into which seven semicircular chapels were included including the chancel. Also the floor projection of the entrance hall is slightly conical. Above the main entrance to the church, a commemorative tablet is placed with the initials of abbot Otmar Zinke and the chronogram 1726 - i.e. the year when the Church of St. Barbra was sacrificed. These days, the indoor installation of the church includes only the altar architecture. Probably the most valuable relic is the altar in the southern middle chapel, which used to be the great altar. Various embossing and sculptures dating back mostly to the 18th century and also other more valuable movables are safely stored in collection storage rooms. Within the exposition of the Museum of the Broumov Region, the panel Crucifiction from the 15th century is exhibited, which is a unique relic of its kind in the whole region and originally, it was a part of the very church in Otovice. Today we can find the Church of St. Barbra in the middle of the village, but originally it was standing alone in the open space surrounded by the churchyard.
The Broumov Group of Churches
The baroque churches, the so-called "Broumov Group", built on the territory of the Broumov monastic estate in accordance with the plans of Christoph Dientzenhofer and his son Kilian Ignaz form a unique architectural landmark of the region. The churches were built in a relatively short time, in the period 1709-43. They are a result of unusual building and economic boom initiated by abbot Otmar Zinke - a very capable provost of the Benedictine monastery of Brevnov-Broumov. Despite the unquestionable economy of their design, these country churches bear a seal of uniqueness and creative originality worthy of the well-known name of its authors -- father and son the Dientzenhofers. In particular the following buildings are concerned: the Church of St. Procope in Bezdekov, the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Božanov, the Church of St. Wenceslas in Broumov, the Church of All Saints in Hermánkovice, the Church of St. Barbara in Otovice, the Church of St. James the Bigger in Ruprechtice, the Church of St. Margaret in Šonov, the Church of St. Michael in Vernérovice, the Church of St. Anne in Vižnov and the Chapel of Virgin Mary (also called the Star) on the border of the Broumov Cliffs.
KIRCHE DER HL. BARBARA, OTOVICE
An der Stelle der heutigen Kirche der Hl. Barbara stand ursprünglich eine Holzkapelle. Die erhaltenen Baurechnungen ergeben, dass der Bau der neuen Kirche nach Vorlage des Christoph Dientzenhofers im Jahre 1725 begonnen, und zwei Jahre später fertiggestellt wurde. Zwischen 1748-50 hatte man noch an der Inneneinrichtung und am Interieur gearbeitet. In das Kirchenschiff mit ovalem Grundriss wurden sieben halbkreisförmige Kapellen, einschließlich eines Presbyteriums eingebaut. Ebenfalls die Vorhalle hat einen leicht konischen Grundriss. Über dem Haupteingang der Kirche ist eine Gedenktafel mit dem Monogramm des Abtes Otmar Zinke und der Jahreszahl 1726 angebracht das Jahr, in dem die Kirche der Hl. Barbara eingeweiht wurde. Zur Zeit besteht die Inneneinrichtung der Kirche lediglich aus einer Altararchitektur. Jahrhundert sowie weiteres wertvolleres Mobiliar werden in Depositaren aufbewahrt. In der Exposition des Museums von Broumov ist ein Tafelbild der Kreuzigung aus dem 15. Jahrhundert zu finden. Diese in der gesamten Region einzigartige Denkwürdigkeit zierte ursprünglich gerade die Kirche in Otovice. Heute steht die Kirche der Hl. Barbara in der Dorfmitte, ursprünglich stand sie jedoch solitär im freien Raum, vom Friedhof umgeben.
Die Kirchengruppe von Broumov
Als eine einzigartige architektonische Sehenswürdigkeit der Region gelten die Barock-kirchen der sog. "Broumov-Gruppe", gebaut auf den Ländereien der Klosterherrschaft von Broumov nach Vorlage des Christoph Dientzenhofer und seines Sohnes Kilian Ignaz. Die Kirchen wurden innerhalb einer relativ kurzen Zeit gebaut, zwischen 1709 - 43. Sie entstanden als Folge eines ungewöhnlichen Bau- und Wirtschafts-booms, aus der Initiative des Abtes Otmar Zinke -eines sehr tüchtigen Vorstehers der Benediktinerabtei von Brevnov-Broumov. Diese Landkirchen zeugen, trotz ihrer unbestritten sparsamen Lösung, von Einzigartigkeit und künstlerischer Originalität ihrer berühmten Autoren - Vater und Sohn Dientzenhofer. Es handelt sich um folgende Bauten: Kirche des Hl. Prokop in Bezdekov, Kirche der Hl. Maria Magdalena in Božanov, Kirche des Hl. Wenzels in Broumov, Kirche Aller Heiligen in Hermánkovice, Kirche der Hl. Barbara in Otovice, Kirche des Hl. Jakob des Größeren in Ruprechtice, Kirche der Hl. Marketa in Šonov, Kirche des Hl. Michael in Vernérovice, Kirche der Hl. Anna in Vižnov und die Kapelle der Jungfrau Maria (auch „Hvezda" (Stern) genannt) auf dem Kamm der Broumov Felswände.
