Geocache Description:

TROTTERNISH AND THE QUIRAING

Almost everyone who comes to Skye pays a visit to Bealach Ollasgairte (not named on maps) for the spectacular view of the Quiraing.

Firstly, the cache is in sight of anyone wandering around from the parking area at the top of the pass. When you are at the cache location, you will appear to many to be in an unusual situation, which might arouse curiosity. Fortunately, the cache location is superb for taking pictures either of the Quiraing or of the northern end of the Trotternish ridge. So, have a camera with you, and look as though you are settling down to take some pictures.

Secondly, the cache is located on a steep grassy slope; not dangerous in itself (although it could be awkward when wet), but you really will have to exercise care as you approach the cache because you walk along narrow ledges across that slope. It isn't a huge slope, but it can be intimidating. Moreover, rocks jut out at the GZ, and while these will aid your progress, equally they can provide an unwelcome nudge if you are not constantly alert to your situation.

Once you reach the cache, you will realise why this is such a special place. Why...you could sit there for hours.
