Traditional cache in the Sipoo Dog Forest.
Sipoon koirametsä on noin 50 hehtaarin alue luonnollisessa
tilassa olevaa metsää, joka on tarkoitettu koirien ulkoiluttamiseen
ja kouluttamiseen. Tänne kelpaa siis tulla koiran kanssa, olkoon
geo- sellainen tai ei. Koirametsää ei ole aidattu, joten kannattaa
tutustua parkkipaikalla olevaan ilmoitustauluun jossa kartalla
näytetään koirametsän alue. Myös sääntöihin kannattaa tutustua,
vaikka ne ovatkin jokaiselle koiranomistajalle (toivottavasti)
muutenkin itsestään selviä.
Koirametsään pääsee ajamalla Uutta Porvoontietä pitkin Itäsalmeen,
ja kääntymällä siellä Puronniityntielle. Runsaat 500 m ajettuasi on
vasemmalla pieni tie ja puinen kyltti jossa lukee "Koirametsä".
Tätä tietä pitkin on runsaat 200 m parkkipaikalle. Parkkipaikalta
lähtee polku, jota pitkin tulet kätköalueelle (ei tosin suorinta
reittiä). Syksyllä tai muuten märillä kelillä voi varautua siihen
että alkupäässä on suhteellisen mutaista.
Jos tiedät mukavan koirille tarkoitetun tai muuten erityisen
sopivan paikan, perusta toki kätkö sinne jotta muutkin
koirakätköilijät löytävät paikan :) Jos haluat voit käyttää
"Geodogs allowed - " - nimeämistapaa.

The Sipoo Dog Forest is a 50 hectare area consisting of forest
in a natural state, meant for walking or training dogs. So this is
a good place to come and visit with your dog, be it a geo- such or
not. The Dog Forest is not enclosed by any kind of fence, so you
should take a look at the billboard near the parking area where the
Dog Forest area is showed on a map. It's also a good idea to
familiarize yourself with the rules, although they (hopefully) are
self-evident to any dog-owner.
You can get to the Dog Forest by driving to Itäsalmi along Uusi
Porvoontie, and then turn to Puronniittyntie. After a little over
500 m there is a small road to your left and a wooden sign with the
text "Koirametsä". After some 200 m along this road you arrive at
the parking lot. From here a path starts that will eventually lead
you to the cache site (though not taking the shortest route). In
autumn or during otherwise wet weather you will probably face lots
of mud at the start.
If you know a good spot meant for or otherwise especially suited
for dogs, why not place a cache there so that other dogcachers also
find the place :) If you want, you can use the "Geodogs allowed -"
naming convention.
