Bei diesem Cache handelt es sich um einen Traditional-Cache, der euch auf eine wunderschöne Alm führt. Bis zum Cache braucht man in etwa eine halbe Stunde. Ihr müsst die Wege, bis auf die letzten Meter zum Cache nie verlassen. Festes Schuhwerk und Trittsicherheit ist anzuraten.

Am besten ihr parkt euer Auto (falls ihr halt mit dem Auto unterwegs seid) bei den angegebenen Parkkoordinaten. Der Parkplatz liegt auf einer Höhe von 1550m und ist nur über eine Mautpflichtige Strasse zu erreichen.

Vom Parkplatz aus folgt ihr dem Weg zur Bachlalm am grünen Postkasten vorbei bergabwärts. Nach dem Weiderost haltet euch links und folgt dem Weg quer durch die Alm. Nach einer Weile trefft ihr auf eine Brücke die über einen Bach führt. Danach biegt ihr nach links ab und folgt der Forststrasse weiter bis zu einer Weggabelung an der ihr nach rechts Richtung Südwandhütte; Bachlalm abzweigt. Bei der nächsten Weggabelung cirka 100m entfernt vom Cache habt ihr nun zwei Möglichkeiten. Entweder quert man hier den Bachlauf, je nach Wasserstand möglich oder nicht und folgt dem dahinter liegenden etwas schlecht ersichtlichen Weg zum zweiten Bachlauf, über den eine Brücke führt. Nun ist man schon beinahe beim Cache. Oder die zweite Möglichkeit, man folgt dem Weg weiter zur Bachlalm und trifft cirka 100m weiter bachabwärts auf die Stelle wo die beiden Bachläufe zusammenlaufen und wo eine Brücke über beide führt. Nach der Brücke folgt man dem GPS wieder bergaufwärts bis zum Cache, der auf einer Höhe von 1450m liegt.

Zurück könnt ihr nun nur den Weg gehen, von dem ihr gekommen seid.

Die Idee hinter denen von uns platzierten Caches in dieser Region ist es, diese in einer Wanderung zu verbinden. Der Brandriedel ist der erste dieser Runde. Vom Brandriedel aus gehts weiter über die Südwandhütte zur Märchenwiese. Von dort aus geht man den Weg zurück über die beiden Bäche wo man auf die Weggabelung stoßt, von der man aus vorher den markierten Weg verlassen hat, bzw. weiter zur bachabwärts liegenden Brücke weitergegangen ist. Dort folgt man dem Weg zur Walcheralm; Glösalm. Am nächsten Bachlauf angekommen überquert ihr die Brücke und folgt weiter dem Weg zur Walcheralm; Glösalm bis ihr auf die asphaltierte Strasse stößt, wo sich der Parkplatz dieses Caches befindet. Dort überquert ihr die Asphaltstraße und folgt dem Forstweg zur Walcheralm. An der Walcheralm haltet ihr euch rechts und folgt dem Weg zur Brandalm. An der Brandalm vorbei immer am Forstweg halten, bis ihr nachdem ihr das Dachsteinhaus passiert habt beim Gasthaus Edelbrunn anlangt. Wir haben für die gesamt Runde mit Pausen und Mittagessen cirka 6 Stunden benötigt. Der Höhenunterschied vom niedrigsten Punkt (Gasthaus Edelbrunn) zum höchsten Punkt (Südwandhütte) beträgt in etwa 570m. Mit etwa 750m die man bergaufsteigen muss sollte man insgesamt rechnen.

This Cache is a Traditional- Cache which will lead you to a wonderful alpine pasture. It will take you approximately half an hour to get to the Cache. You will not have to leave the paths up to the last meters before the Cache. It is quite advisable to wear a sturdy pair of shoes.

It would be best if you park your car (if you go by car) at the given parking coordinates. The car parking is located at an altitude of 1550 meters and can only be reached by a toll road.

Starting at the car parking, you have to follow the path which leads to Bachlalm, past a green mailbox and then keep on going downhill. After passing the pasture bridge, keep to the left and follow the path crosswise over the pasture. After a while you will reach a bridge which leads you over a brook. Then turn left and follow the forestry road up to a fork in the road. Take the right way leading to Südwandhütte; Bachlalm. At the next fork in the road, about 100 meters away from the Cache, you have two possibilities. The first possibility is to cross the brook, depending on its amount of water, and follow the quite badly visible path up to a second brook over which you can pass over a bridge. Now you have nearly reached the Cache. The second possibility is to keep on following the path to Bachlalm. After 100 meters downriver you will come across a place where the two brooks meet. There you will find a bridge which leads over both streams. After passing the bridge you have to follow the GPS uphill up to the Cache which can be found at an altitude of 1450 meters.

When you return you have to follow the same way as you did before.

The idea behind the Caches we have hidden in this region is to connect these Caches to a hiking route. The Brandriedel is the first in this round. From the Brandriedel pass the Südwandhütte and go to the Märchenwiese. From there on you take the path back past the two brooks where you find a fork in the road where you have left the marked way beforehand. From there on follow the path to Walcheralm; Glösalm. When you reach the next brook, pass the bridge and keep following the path to Walcheralm; Glösalm until you reach an asphalted road where the car parking of this Cache is located. Over there you have to cross the asphalted road and follow the forestry path to Walcheralm. At the Walcheralm you have to keep to the right and follow the path to Brandalm. Having reached the Brandalm, keep on following the forestry path until, after having passed the Dachsteinhaus, you will finally reach Gasthaus Edelbrunn. It took us about 6 hours, including breaks and lunch, to finish the route. The difference in altitude between the lowest point (Gasthaus Edelbrunn) and the highest point (Südwandhütte) is about 570 meters. You have to expect to go uphill for about 750 meters.
