Varn-Lehenkopf, Farnlehenkopf,
Brentenkopf, Brandenkopf
viele Namen für das Wahrzeichen des Mittleren Schwarzwaldes in dem
sich fünf Gemeinden und drei Täler treffen.
Seinen heutigen Namen trägt der Berg aufgrund eines verheerenden
Brandes im Jahr 1730.
Seit 1929 gibt es dank des Schwarzwaldvereines einen Steinturm
(29m) mit hervorrangender Aussicht auf dem Berg, der den älteren
Holzturm aus dem Jahre 1905 ersetzt hat.
Der Platz wird auch für einen 125m hohen Sendemast der SWR und zwei
große Windkraftanlagen genutzt.
Je nachdem wieviel Lust man zum laufen hat, kann man parken
bei:
- N48 20.749 E008 08.690,
- N48 20.940 E008 09.654
- oder auch direkt auf dem Berg.
Wer etwas weiter gelaufen ist, freut sich wahrscheinlich über die
Gaststätte direkt am Turm (Montag Ruhetag).

many names for the landmark of the mid Black Forrest where five
communites and three valleys meet.
The hill got his current name due to a devastating fire in the year
1730.
Thanks to the 'Schwarzwaldverein' there is stone tower (29m) with a
magnificant view on the mountain which replaced a wooden tower
which was formerly built in 1905.
The site locates also a 125m tall radio mast used by 'SWR' and two
large wind turbines
Depending on how much you want to walk you may
park at:
- N48 20.749 E008 08.690,
- N48 20.940 E008 09.654
- or even directly on the top.
Those who choosed walking might be happy about the inn next to the
tower (closed mondays). Those who not might too
:-)
