This cache (like a lot of my caches) is accessible by boat as well
as by foot. The cache is designed as a starting/ending place for
TBs playing games! The first game being played, stars 'player 13'
(TB120AJ) based in this cache and 'Player 69' (TB11SWC) based in
'Stanborough Booty' (GCX301). They each have a ball and are trying
to score in their opponent’s base. I have only put a couple of swap
items in this cache, as I wanted to leave room for TBs.
The cache is placed on the shores of Windermere in a National Trust
site called Miller Ground. This site is located at the widest point
of the lake (about 1 mile across) and is a great place to come for
a walk and, because of its beaches and public jetties, also a great
place to stop if you’re out in a boat. At the opposite end of the
site from the cache is a small house, which used to be the site of
the old ferry that was rowed across the lake. It is still possible
to see the arch on the roof, which used to house the bell that was
rang when someone wanted to cross. Also along the path near the
cache is a rock with a plaque mentioning Queen Adelaide’s visit to
the site (Hence also the name of the hill to the west of the site).
I have tried to put the cache in a fairly quiet location but the
site is often very busy so some stealth may be needed! Also
although the whole site has fairly good access, with well kept
paths through out, the cache has been placed just off the path to
make it harder for muggles to find and a short, steep climb is
required (hence the 2 for terrain)!
Hope you enjoy the cache.
**very important** - the cache is on the lake side of the wall not
the field side. please approach from the right side and DO NOT
climb over the wall!
**Update** This cache is now the HQ for the Echo Squadron of the
Tan army. Visit: http://www.usageocoins.com/armymen.htm for more
info. Down with the green army!
