The cache is in a lesser used public park in Ludington. When it was hidden on a Saturday afternoon of 4th of July weekend, there was only one other group in the park. The terrain approaching the cache site can be easy or difficult depending on how one navigates to it. There is a level dirt trail from the right direction.
The cache container is small, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall, painted black. It will hold a few small trade items and a log book.
On a recent maintenance trip to the cache I noticed potential hiding spots (a stump) ripped apart looking for the cache. Please don't destroy or move these possible hiding spots and ruin the number of choices for the next finder/searcher. Be a responsible cacher and please replace items as found and everything you move while looking for the cache.
The posted rules at the entrance states the gates are closed at 8 PM and that motorcycles are prohibited. However, I think this must not mean street bikes as I have seen other motorcycles there and have ridden my trike into the park without incident. The cache is only 800 ft from the gate and 350 ft from the parking lot.
9/4/06 I was there recently during mid day on a Monday and the gate was locked, that is why I posted the distance from the main gate so searchers will know the walking distance is relatively short.
