Congratulations to those who have completed the Nebraska 93 County Challenge!
The requirement for this cache is easy…find or place a geocache with a logbook in each of Nebraska’s 93 counties. All of the caches must have a container and a logbook, thus, event, virtual, webcam and locationless geocaches will not fulfill the requirements of the Challenge. Please include a list of your qualifying caches and just not a screen print showinging you have completed a cache in each county since there are caches without logbooks in those counties too. Much too hard to verify your qualifying caches without your list. THANKS!!!
The logbook for the cache is a nano (4/18/24) at the listed coordinates.
The final determining factor of the cache locations in each county will be my DeLorme Topo USA 6.0 software. It would be a lot easier to use the maps provided by geocaching.com since that is readily available to all cachers, but I have found that those maps are not as accurate as the DeLorme Topo USA 6.0. There are only a few caches that come extremely close to county borders, so if you wish to use a Nebraska State Map, or the geocaching.com maps, feel free to do so, but if there is a conflict, the DeLorme software will be the final word. For multi or mystery caches, the originating coordinates will be the determining factor as to which county the cache is located, even if the final coords may be in another county. For those who complete the Challenge, I ask that you send me a .gpx or .loc file of your caches. A booklist will do as well.
As of August 2, 2006, there is a cache in every county!
A big thanks goes to NevaP for creating the Nebraska DeLorme Challenge and assisting me in creating the new Nebraska 93 County Challenge. I know my travels across Nebraska inspired me to explore the highways and byways of this great state and I hope this Challenge will do the same for you.
