The Cabin Creek Waterfall is about 70 foot plus high. Now, there is only a small amount of water falling but it is still worth seeing because of the rock formations. Early this past spring when we found the falls, the water was really flowing. The creek finally empties into the North Fork of the Holston River.
It is too dangerous and also posted so do not attempt to go off the road (to the left) to get closer to the falls. You can view and photograph the falls very well from the road.
As you will see, the road is narrow and goes down through a valley which made it very difficllt to get good/accurate GPS readings.
If you are able to get a good reading at the cache site, please post the coordinates. You may need to use the hints. Marge and I want cachers to find our caches without too much difficulty.
The cache container is a small camo-painted, water-proof match holder. No room for tradeables so please bring your own pen.. Please put the cache back the way you found it. Thanks and have a good caching day.
NOTE: Our Fallin For Virginia XI - Falls Hill Creek cache (GCX20V) has been approved and is on the same road (loop) as this cache. You can do two for the price of one.
