Cache in residential area of Riga, easy accessible by public transportation.
Dzeguzkalns (Cuckoo hill) is the highest natural spot in Riga (28m ASL). It formed when the waters of Baltic Glacial lake retreated some 10000 years ago leaving massive sediments of sand which were blown into dunes by the fierce winds of outgoing ice age.
In the beginning of 17th century this place was used as cemetery for poor people and solders of Riga garrison. It was also a place where sects of the time used to meet and possibly because it's religious meaning on charts of that period it is called Lamb's hill.
During 18th century the area became more and more popular as recreational place for middle class citizens and Riga municipality decided to create a public park there. Plan was ready in 1893, construction started at 1900. It's present name "Cuckoo hill" originates from the name of nereby farm.
Cache is hidden close to the peek. I think, it's name tells everything you need to find it.
