Geocache Description:

M is for Maths Talent Quest is my first solo geocache! It is for my 2006 Maths Talent Quest entry.

If you go to the posted coordinates you will find yourself swimming with the ducks! So I strongly suggest that you take the easy path and instead solve the problems to find the correct coordinates!

For my Maths Talent Quest entry (MTQ), I chose to base my entry on the study of the Global Positioning System. The main part of my MTQ was measuring the area of a local park using my GPS. I then used that information to work out the perimeter. My next section was on……Geocaching! I thought is would be cool to place a cache based on my MTQ project. This is why I created a very kid-friendly cache called M is for Maths Talent Quest.

The Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) was first held in 1982. It is a competition open to all primary and secondary students. The MTQ aims to promote interest in mathematics and foster positive attitudes amongst students, teachers and parents. The focus is on the process of mathematical investigations. The Maths Talent Quest is a great opportunity to investigate, have fun and learn. I have participated in the Maths Talent Quest for 4 years now and have found it a fabulous experience every time!
