A Bridge Too Far Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

SidAndBob: The final cache area is very overgrown at this time of year.
I have plans for another cache in Monmouth (maybe) and this has been replaced a couple of times, so it's time for this one to go.

Geocache Description:

In and around the pretty border town of Monmouth. This cache is both urban and rural.

Designed to appeal to those who don't particularly like hills and for those who like to take in the shops on the way to and from the cache. The co-ordinates are for the old gate bridge at the end of the town, next to which there is ample cheap parking. It is just as possible to park anywhere else in the town. Parking is free at the side of the road after 5pm and on Sundays. Without window shopping, the cache is easily completed inside a couple of hours. Delays are possible dependent upon the level of thirst as you pass the various pubs.

Start by having a look at the area around N51°48.527 W002°43.211 and answer the following questions:

Look for the skull - What is the second date? ABCD

Look for the man in the woolly hat (strange how fashions stay the same). When did they start wearing this headgear in Monmouth? EF

Now look very nearby for another clue. What is the original date for a timber one of these being here? HIJK

Now head for N51°48.(F+H)(H+I)(C-A)W002°42.DB(B-A), which will get you almost half way to the cache.

As you can see, boys will always be boys and never let go of their toys. How many letters in the month he was born? ( Tip: Full word not abbreviation as seen here.) L

How many letters in the month he died? M

What year did he die? NOPQ

Nearby there is someone looking down on you from a very large building. How many letters in his name? R

Now go to N51°48.L(D-N)P W002°42.RO(M-N)(Don't confuse 'O' with'0')

When you arrive here look for a date STVW and complete the following to go to the penultimate stage:

N51°48.(W-V+S)VR W002°42.(T-M)R(V-B)

Whilst perfectly safe, it is advised to keep both children and dogs on a lead just here.

The end is now nearly in sight at :

N51°48.(W-V)SW W002°42.(V-S)B(T-S). There may be NETTLES/ BRAMBLES appearing Spring/Summer TAKE CARE! (There wasn't any there when the cache was hidden.)

Please cover the cache with a few leaves.
