The first of a series of caches in and around the New Forest that begin with a nice spot to have a drink and bite to eat and take you on a walk to see a great view.
This is placed with the permission of the Forestry commision and is a 2.4 lt tupperware style container.
There is no need to leave the paths until you get to within the last few feet of the cache.
It's in the forest so wear something suitable.
This one begins in a small car park at Acres Down. In season you can camp and get cream teas from Acres Down Farm, off season or for those who fancy other beverages there are numerous local hostelries or Lyndhurst (where my personal recommendation would be Tasty Pastries!).
This has to be some of the best views in the forest.
Would be an idea to have some form of hand protection for the recovery of the cache.
The location is exposed so care needs to be taken when retrieving and replacing to prevent muggles seeing you.
