Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden at the base of a tree with several branches. The cache measures 9 cm tall x 13 cm in diameter, a container with a yellow lid. You've to pay for admission! The cache is not in the warren! Budakeszi's warren can be found on the border of Budapest in the valley of Budakeszi. The area of the enclosure is more than 300 hectares. Throughout the year it offers interesting programmes for family trips.

Animals in pens and roaming, parks for rest, several protected plants, camp fires, a hide, a look-out tower and public footpaths are waiting for visitors in the warren.
A few metres from the entrance - in the centre of the park - birds and small predators are shown which are rarely observable in the natural environment. With a short walk you can reach the big games and the hide. The sights of the warren are connected with a footpath called the forest educational path.

Description of two study-trails:

LONG CIRCULAR WALK (takes 100-110 mins)
Start from the bird show. The outstanding oak shows the direction. Take a left at the crossroads, turn left by the "Sycamore" (Hegyi juhar) post then turn left again by the "Red deer" (Gímszarvas) post. Turn right at the junction onto the road marked with green. On the right there's a gate with a stile. At the junction take the road marked with green then go straight on the road marked with a green cross. You'll pass a nice beech forest and a hawthorn. You'll arrive into a trench and will see a hide and old trees. Walk uphill after the "Sessile oak" (Kocsánytalan tölgy) and "Yellow mistletoe" (Sárga fagyöngy) posts. Turn left after the trench and you'll reach the top among oaks and pines. Take the footpath from the grove then turn left to the road marked with green. Turn right after the junction then turn left before the stile. Pass through the grove. Pinewood is on the left, oak forest is on the right. Pass through the trench. You'll reach a junction and later the other end of the path marked with green. Take the footpath to the main entrance.

SHORT CIRCULAR WALK (takes 60-70 mins)
Start from the main entrance by walking towards the big game show. Walk into the dyke then turn left and get across the trench of the transmission line. You'll reach a junction and the road marked with green cross on the left. Go straight on the road marked with green. Pinewood is on the left, deer yard is on the right. You're in a nice oak wood. After the "Mouflon" (Muflon) post pass through a trench and go downwards. Look for the "Wild boar" (Vaddisznó) post then pass through the trench of the electric pylons. Turn right at the "Fallow deer" (Dámszarvas) post and check the "Briar" (Vadrózsa) and "Deer" (Szarvas) posts. Get across the trench. At the junction take the footpath on the left and walk downwards. Take a few paces then turn right onto the path leading to the hide. Later on take the footpath on the right marked with green then follow the road marked with a green cross, bearing right and upslope. Pass the "Maple" (Juharfa) post and the junction. You'll reach the half-cone like build-ups of the bird show and the main entrance next to the wooden owl.

Near the warren's entrance you'll find a camp fire on the land of an old opencast mine, a woodland rest, a playground and a restaurant. You can park near the warren.
The nearby domestic animal show presents a traditional rural building. The animals (Hungarian grey cattle, poultry and goats) are looked after, raised and kept with traditional appliances and methods.
An interesting initiative is that the animals and plants of the warren can be adopted for a fee. The adopted animals and plants will remain in the care of the park.
You'll find the Elm lawn (Szilfa-tisztás) by the road leading to the warren. That's a popular picnic place as well. Sport events are often organised on the meadow. A wooden playground was built there.

The opening hours of the warren:
1st March - 31st October:
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and at the weekend 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
1st November - 28th February:

The warren is accessible from the road between Budapest and Budakeszi. Travel by bus on route 22 from Moszkva tér to Szanatórium utca. A short walk from the bus stop, take a right by the hospital and use the footpath.
