In the Calblanque regional park, near the Batería de Cenizas abandoned coastal defence.
The cache is reached by less than an hour's stroll up a winding, gently sloped old road to the abandoned coastal battery 'Batería de Cenizas'. The battery was built in 1931 on the site of older defences from the 18th century.
On your walk you will get great views of the natural beauty of the Mar Menor, the bay of Portmán and the rocky southerly coastline of Murcia. You will also get a good look at the not-so-natural views of local golf complexes and new buildings eating into the Calblanque park. On our walk up today we passed maybe up to 50 people, it's not quiet, many of the inmates of the local golf course take refuge up the track...
You park your car on the road between Portmán and La Unión; the car park coordinates are in the waypoint list below.
The cache is just off the path, before you get to the coastal defences.
