Juan Slept Here Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Gitonyerhorse: I don't live in the area anymore, so I think I'll let this one go so someone else can put one here. The view is so nice, it needs a new cache.

Geocache Description:

A sign only micro in a very pretty spot. Bring a pen. Might be quite a hike for some folks. The view is wonderful on a clear day.

Along the Hammond-Snyder Loop Trail in Rancho San Antonio. According to the De Anza Trail legend, this is the spot where Juan Bautista de Anza first saw the San Francisco Bay on his journey north. Before this became part of Rancho San Antonio, I could ride my horse up to the top of this knoll and enjoy the cool breeze. Horses are no longer allowed on the top of the hill, but you can still ride right by the cache site. There is a nice bench and an informative plaque at the top of the knoll.
