Geocache Description:

Offset cache. Cachetainer is NOT at the listed coordinates. It is just a few hundred feet away. Please read the description.

I have hidden a few caches in this preserve on the other side of the river...yes that is a hint...this hide in on the east side of the DesPlaines river.I was in the area today for cache maintanance on one of my other hides and decided to do some hidey-spot scouting. As I rode my bike along the trail I came across this tree. From the looks of this tree I can only arrive at 2 posible conclusions...either there is a beaver out here in these woods the size of a Chrysler minivan, or there is a little beaver out here with a HUGE ego and lofty ambitions. There is much older work on this tree as well as recent efforts. There is ample evidence in the area of small trees being taken down by beavers in the past as well as a number of larger trees featuring fresh woodworking. The funny one is the tree at the edge of the trail a few feet east of this big beaver project. What is this beaver thinking? What is he thinking he will do with this smaller one if he can fell it? It is nowhere near the water!
Once you have found this tree and marveled at the brass ones on this little beaver go find the cache.
The cache is located in a hollow log on the ground 281 feet away at 57 degrees from the Teenage Mutant Ninja beaver project tree. This is my first offset hide of this type. I would appreciate it if the first few finders let me know if my feet and degrees for the location are accurate.
Some of you might recognize the cachetainer. This is the Lock N Lock that was formerly my hide "The Jobsite" (now archived). I have recycled it in the spirit of caching and enviromental friendliness.
Happy Hunting.
