*Why:
Who needs an excuse to get together and have fun!!

Bassway Strip is a notorious hunting, (both with rifle and GPSr) and fishing haven for many locals. It covers several miles along Interstate 80 and is unfortunately a dumping ground for trash and other rubbish. To properly honor and recognize "The International CITO Day" on April 22, 2006, the Central NE area cachers have complied their know-how and organized a CITO to clean the area of debris and try to restore the area to its original beauty.

Please bring gloves, shovels, and large trash bags. Be sure to dress accordingly and wear your Geocaching clothes!! It might also be a good idea to bring bug spray and a small first aid kit. You never know what you might get yourself into out in the wild. FYI, there are no restrooms in the area, but there is a Shell Gas Station when you first pull off the interstate at exit 279.

After we finish cleaning the area, there will be a tailgate party. There will be a grill available for hamburgers and hot dogs. Volunteers will be needed to bring hot dogs, hot dog buns, hamburger, hamburger buns, chips, and any other items desired. Water will be provided for all attendees while cleaning. Please post what goodies, etc. you plan to bring so that everyone else has a good idea of what to bring. Also, don't forget your lawn chairs!

So far we have:
Ventureman7
=grill
Tweety and Mickey=grill, hot dogs, and hot dog buns
Still Searching=side dish/dessert
Contryguy=hamburger and hamburger buns
Zooluton=condiments for burgers and weiners and side dish
Lissie=chips
Big Dawgg and Cardinal Girl=soda pop
Twinstars and Lady Bug of Plattsmouth=plates and ice
Lego Expeditionary Force=soda pop, picnic dishes, and condiments
Liver Fluke=post clean up snacks

There will be numerous starting points as well as new caches to seek out which you will be able to log as finds as soon as they are posted on the website. The new caches will not be posted on Geocaching.com, until the event has expired, so for those of you that are paperless, you will just have to resort to when you first started caching and printed all the information from your computer. Handouts will be available for all cachers. Be prepared for fun, friends, and laughter….hey, you might even get a little dirty in the process, but that’s half of the fun.

Ladies and Gentleman....may we continue to have your attention as it has recently been brought to our attention that "The Bassway Strip CITO" won the random drawing for the volunteer's coin!! How exciting. All participants will be put in a drawing for this exciting and one-of-a-kind coin!! See Electric Mouse's website (http://home.earthlink.net/~electricmouse2/id8.html) for more information.

While in the area for the CITO, be sure to check out the annual Gun Show at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, or a “Fun 5K Walk/Run” at UNK, and for the little ones, you can’t forget them, the IMFAMOUS KIDZ EXPLORE (www.kidzexplore.com) at the Kearney Event Center. For more information, see the Kearney Chamber of Commerce website calendar at www.KearneyCOC.org.

Mark your calendars NOW and see ya Saturday April 22, 2006 at 3:00pm!
