Legends abound as to the veracity and existance of medieval
treasures, and the exploits of knights seeking them are documented
in the tales of many authors. This relatively abscure poem was
recently discovered in the archives of one Utah library. It appears
that it now has been used to hide the existence of ancient relics.
Interpret the poem and solve the mystery. Take one item from the
stash, no trade required.
Medieval Ode
Now you see me;
now you don’t;
just a mere caress;
err, you won’t.
Gaze deeply, control lightly;
let your fingers be your guide;
tis this one, then that one;
no longer do I hide.
Find me, find me;
the sextant, thus foretells;
the distance you must travel;
northern springs, fountain swells.
Careful heed, make thou now;
marked bearings do deceive;
a mirror's glance, revealeth how;
a twisteth reading, decree.
Rest your carriage, thou feet embark;
twice hundred sixty-two rods, make haste;
the treasure, there, within thy mark;
the riches, must thou taste.
Ner asunder from traveled path;
let your footsteps lightly trod;
two steps, five steps, claim your prize;
from rocky grave you must prod.
Stealthy eyes a watching;
on bordered lands creatures lurk;
two different lands may thou cross;
duty calls, ye dare not shirk.
