Goodbye USSR Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Leptoceratops: Hello!
I'm archiving your cache as it has been disabled for more than a one month and it is lost, completely damaged or inappropriate. Caches should be visited and maintained within 30 days after disabling.
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

If there are still leftovers from container I would appreciate if other players could collect them so that there is no trash in the nature.

Happy geocaching!

Geocache Description:

Cache is located in an abandoned USSR army base in the forest.

For more than half a century USSR army was present in Latvia. It moved out only a little over decade ago, leaving the ruins of its buildings behind all over the country. This forest, not far from Riga, is full with ruins of abandoned military buildings. The cache was placed on March 25, the memorial day of victims of communist regime, sent to Siberia in 1949. The army base is accessible by car, and you can drive as close as some 300m to the cache. The cache is a glass jar containing a logbook, pencil, pen and an ice-fishing tool attached outside of the jar.

Update 03.04.2021 As this is old cache, I let description as it was. Now there is lock&lock box not jar, and you can drive closer than previos times.
