I used to bring my son here many years ago when he was little, he used to paddle & look for crabs & other beasties.
One day his father asked him where he was going, to which my son replied "Awful Mess". We've called it that ever since.
A quick & easy cache.
Parking is £2 for 2 hours in the carpark but there is roadside parking if you can find a space. I suggest you walk down to the quay & pick up the footpath from there. There is a lovely Castle in Orford to visit if you have the time.
