Park je v údolí vytvoreném prastarým potokem Brusnice. Z jedné
strany byl ohranicen zahrádkárskou kolonií, která musela ustoupit
stavbe tunelu Blanka, z druhé vedou ješte zachovalé barokní
hradby, které mely vytvorit z Prahy nedobytnou vojenskou pevnost.
Zdi mohutné barokní fortifikace byly zpevneny baštami, které
byly od sebe vzdálené 160 - 250 metru. Se stavbou hradeb se v Praze
zacalo na prelomu roku 1653 - 1654 a výstavba byla približne
ukoncena nekdy kolem roku 1730. Kdysi zde býval vojenský hrbitov,
urcený pro hradcanskou delostreleckou posádku. Rozkládal se prímo
pod barokními baštami. Založen byl po roce 1786 a
pohrbívalo se zde až do pocátku 20. století. Dnes po nem
zustaly celkem zachovalé náhrobky prímo ve stene hradeb. Na jednom
náhrobku se mužeme docíst i o c. a k. telegrafistovi, po
kterém uz nezustalo nic, jen tenhle záznam...

English version: Park is located in the small valley
created by old Brusnice creek. It was bordered by gardens on one
side, which had to retreat Blanka tunnel construction, on the other
side you can find still preserved baroque city walls. The walls
were massive baroque fortification reinforced with bastions, which
were remote from each other 160 - 250 meters. The construction of
the wall in Prague started at the turn of the year 1653 - 1654 and
was approximately terminated sometimes around 1730. Directly under
baroque bastions was a military cemetery, designed for artillery
crew. It was founded after year 1786 and was in service until the
early 20th century. You can still see large preserved tombs in the
wall. One of them holds the name of K. und K. telegraphist, after
which left nothing but this old record...
