Le champ pétrolifère d’Eschau, fut Découvert en 1955 à 350 mètres de profondeur.ne vous attendez pas à des quantités calculées en millions de barils/jour mais en 1983 le champ produit 1418 tonnes et en 1984 un nouveau sondage met en œuvre le forage multidrains qui fut une première Alsacienne. La boite se trouve à proximité de l'un des trois champs encore en activité à ce jours.
