The small park is located in Westport, near Sherwood Island. The full puzzle coordinates were N41 07.728 W073 20.244.

Geocache Description:

An easy to reach container hidden in Westport, CT. The header coordinates ARE NOT the cache location, but are within one mile of it – solve the puzzle to find the actual hide spot!

Did you ever have a weekend where you did absolutely nothing that was productive? (This excludes geocaching of course, which we all know is as important as breathing.)

I mean a weekend where you just lazed about and accomplished nothing – no grocery shopping, no laundry, NADA. On a good ‘Lost Weekend’ the most challenging thing that you undertook was the Sunday Crossword Puzzle. Well, here’s a Lostboy and Lostgirl tribute to just such a weekend, but with ‘breathing’ included!

Solve the crossword below, and use the answers to deduce the missing numbers to the coordinates of: N 41 (Down 1)(Down 2).(Down 3)(Down 4)(Down 5) W 073 (Across 1)(Across 2).(Across 3)(Across 4)

Once the basic crossword is finished, it is up to you to determine what unique number applies to each in order to decode the cache location. For example, if a crossword answer were ‘Henry’, ask yourself what number is commonly associated with that word. ‘Henry the Eighth’ you say? Then the digit you want is ‘8’.

In certain cases the crossword clue will point you in the right direction, in others your knowledge of common sayings, some Internet research, or simple faith in your hunches will help you find the missing numbers. Nothe the checksum below to confirm your guesses.

The container is tupperware, about the same size as a 30-cal ammo box. Besides the five bucks of cold, hard cash for FTF, it also contains a Log and Pencil and a few other fun trinkets.

[The puzzle is the hardest part; the cache uses a fairly common hide tactic, is close to a roadside pull-off and walkable in less than five minutes. It was placed near 10AM with 10' accuracy and WAAS lock.]
